we took an impromptu trip to the fair this evening, after work. we meet some friends there and had a great time. i think we've been every year, for the past 9 years... well... the past 7, for sure. we started off with squeals, at the pig races. we (me, donna, wes & allie) got our thrills on the 'black widow', which wes loved. but ferris wheels? no thanks, i'll pass. those things creep me out.
nick (8), wes (almost 6) & allie (7)
i specifically remember going in 2006 when i was 8 months pregnant. NOT a good idea. it was hot and horrible feet swelling was involved. it was memorable, but not in a pleasant way.
our chicks, checking out the chicks. allie, clay, wes & brylee
i also specifically remember the 2008 trip. gary, wes and i were there watching rhonda vincent perform one evening and i got a phone call from my best friend donna... she was in labor with her 2nd daughter, brylee. i can't believe she's almost 4.
the gigantic 'blueberry'
above is a magician, whose show we watched tonight. it was called 'the magic of agriculture', and it was really entertaining! he was funny and i enjoyed watching wes laugh.
wes, allie and nick spinning. it made me dizzy to watch.

wes and allie were tall enough to ride the 'flying ride' this year... which is awesome and sad all at once.
captain clay (2 1/2) & miss brylee (almost 4)
tonight was a fun way to bring an end to the summer. it was great spending some quality time with dear friends. now... bring on the fall! i'm ready for pumpkins and corn mazes (another yearly tradition that donna and i have).
